Tomb of the Kings
Spread over a vast area, these impressive subterranean burial chambers were built from 3rd Century BC to the 3rd Century AD and have an important place in Cyprus history. They are carved out of solid rock with some being decorated with Doric pillars. The magnificence of the tombs gave the locality its name. In Egyptian tradition, it was felt that tombs should resemble the houses of the living as the tomb was to be the house of the dead which is why they are so beautifully decorated. This 'City of the Dead' is an imitation of the city of the living and reflects the architecture and decorative embellishments of this time in Cyprus history.

Paphos Harbour/Castle
The harbour at Paphos attracts visitors all year round, who take the opportunity to walk along the quay and maybe visit one of the fish restaurants, tavernas or cafes. The view is superb, with lots of colourful fishing boats bobbing in the harbour. The castle is in fact all that remains of a much earlier castle dating from 1391, which was demolished by the Venetians. The Ottomans used it as dungeons and the British as a warehouse for salt! It can be reached via a small bridge over a moat and is worth a visit for the view from the top.The harbour is also a good place to take a boat tour of the surrounding beaches and coastline.

Troodos Mountains
Troodos is the biggest mountain range of Cyprus, located in the center of the island. Troodos' highest peak is Mount Olympus at 1,952 metres. Troodos mountain range stretches across most of the western side of Cyprus, offering cool sanctuary and idyllic hours spent in long walks in its scented pine forests in summer and winter sports and
ski-ing in winter. There are many famous mountain resorts, Byzantine monasteries and churches on mountain peaks, and nestling in its valleys and picturesque mountain villages clinging to terraced hill slopes. There are 9 churches in Troodos that are counted among Unesco's World Heritage Sites and several monasteries, of which the Kykkos monastery is the most famous and rich.
